The previously announced training date has been canceled. The session has been rescheduled for July 21, 2026, from 9:00–10:00 AM PDT.

This training is specific to WCG IRB’s submission system and does not change the submission process for studies reviewed by the UC Davis IRB through IRBNet.

Who should attend?

Researchers and study teams who work with studies where the UC Davis IRB has ceded review to WCG IRB.

Who can skip?

Same SOPs, More Accessible Format

Our standard operating procedures (SOPs) are now available as webpages rather than PDF files, making them easier to navigate and use with assistive technology. Don’t be fooled by the new look. The contents of our SOPs remain unchanged!

Our Starting Lineup Has Changed

World Cup teams aren’t the only ones maintaining a roster this summer. Our committee roster has been updated to reflect the latest membership changes. The current roster, as well as all our historical rosters, can be found on our About IRB webpage.

That Has AI Written All Over It

We are seeing an influx of submissions written with the assistance of large language models (LLMs). Use of LLMs can delay review because they add “fluff” that does not answer the questions in our protocol templates and miss the logic built into our forms, which can create inconsistencies across submission materials. Please prepare your submissions to the IRB based on your own knowledge of your research rather than relying on an LLM to generate responses.
