Submissions
All applications must be submitted using our electronic project management system, IRBNet.org.
New projects must be reviewed by the IRB prior to beginning human research activities. After initial approval, researchers must maintain IRB approval by submitting post-approval applications and reports.
All applications will be reviewed for compliance with the criteria for approval.
New Projects
All new projects must be reviewed by the IRB prior to the conduct of any research involving human subjects. This includes research that may be exempt.
Modifications
Modifications to research must be approved by the IRB prior to implementation, except when necessary to eliminate an immediate hazard to human subjects.
Reportable Events
Reportable Event or Reportable New Information (RNI) submissions are used to alert the IRB to issues related to human research protections.
Continuing Review
Some studies approved by the IRB are required to be reviewed on an annual basis to continue. To renew these studies, a Continuing Review submission is required.
Study Closure
All human subjects research studies should be closed once research activities, including the analysis of private identifiable information, are complete.
